Over 500 humanoid robot athletes had their own "Olympic Games," giving glimpses of the future of robotics. China's southern metropolis of Shenzhen has officially launched an incentive program to encourage new energy vehicle (NEV) owners to charge their rides with electricity from renewable sources. Under the initiative, "Green Car, Green Electricity," NEV owners who charge their cars at any of the 11 green electricity charging stations in the city can receive a personal exclusive green certificate issued by the National Energy Administration for every 1,000 kWh of cumulative charging. Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region will allocate an additional 2 billion yuan (about 280.4 million U.S. dollars) to launch 10 new livelihood initiatives, the regional government has said.
