Shanghai has seen a surge in inbound tourism in summer travel season this year since July 1. The city recorded 187,000 inbound tourist trips during July 1 to July 15, a 35.5% increase from the previous year. China's grain production is on solid footing this year, with nearly 60% of early-season rice already harvested and projections indicating a bumper crop, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said on July 17, 2025.
