In an era swept by the new media wave, the landscape of film and television production and communication is undergoing profound transformations. As a regional mainstream media outlet, the Hechi Converged Media Center in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has emerged as a trailblazer, integrating regional cultural heritage into its audiovisual productions.

Through institutional innovation and technological empowerment, it has built a dynamic ecosystem that balances artistic excellence with communicative power. Its pioneering practices in content creation and communication offer a replicable model for the high-quality development of local media's film and television art.

Nurturing excellent contents through cultural roots

Since its establishment, the Hechi Converged Media Center has consistently rooted itself in Hechi's unique local characteristics, transforming regional cultural heritage into a wellspring for film and television creation.

Regarding talent development, the center oversees daily operations of the Hechi Film and Television Artists Association. By regularly organizing professional exchange activities, it has built a robust talent reservoir, forming a virtuous cycle of "talent aggregation–collaborative exchange–capacity building." This institutional innovation not only strengthens the creative foundation but also sparks inspiration through brainstorming among local filmmakers.

The pursuit of excellence in creative production is fundamentally driven by strategic planning. The center has extended the quality-oriented mindset throughout the entire film and television production process:

• Delving deep into themes such as Hechi's revolutionary history and folk customs. For instance, the online documentary Red Light in the Karst Cave uses caves as a narrative carrier to decode the spiritual legacy of revolutionary years.

• Regularly conducting internal curation initiatives to encourage innovation in program design, visual storytelling techniques, and integrated application of artistic elements like sound effects and subtitles to elevate production quality.

• Innovatively adopting "project-based collaboration frameworks" to flexibly assemble teams based on production scale for efficient resource allocation.

• Actively collaborating with film production groups within and beyond the region. While learning from others' advanced experiences and exemplary practices, it also showcases Hechi's cultural distinctiveness to the wider world.

Recent years have witnessed a continuous emergence of works fusing local characteristics with contemporary aesthetics — from the animated film Powers of the Five Spirits to the AI micro-drama Encounters with Eminent Guests. Notably, Encounters with Eminent Guests was selected as an outstanding work in the 2024 Excellent AI-Based Cases of Positive Energy Online Communication in China, demonstrating the creative vitality of integrating technology with culture.
