In the 1960s, nearly every Chinese person could sing a song that celebrated the deep, unbreakable friendship between China and Vietnam. The lyrics go:

"Vietnam and China,

connected by mountains and waters.

Facing the sea together,

our friendship is like the morning sun …"

This song captures the essence of the enduring bond between the two nations, a bond built on shared history and mutual respect, one that continues to shine brightly through the years.

January 18, 2025, marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. In 1950, the People's Republic of China became the first country to officially recognize and establish diplomatic ties with the Democratic Republic of Vietnam which was founded in 1945.

The friendship between China and Vietnam, forged through shared struggles against colonial rule and foreign aggression, has grown even stronger over the decades. Inspired by the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, the two nations continue to collaborate for mutual development.

To commemorate this historic occasion, the China-Vietnam co-produced documentary The Secret Hospital II aired on television and internet platforms, telling little-known stories from the history that reflect the enduring bond between the two countries through generations.
