A single thread offers a glimpse into the grand tapestry of time; a single carpet connects the ancient Silk Road and today's Belt and Road Initiative.

As Chinese President Xi Jinping has said, "Civilizations have become richer and more colorful with exchanges and mutual learning. Such exchanges and mutual learning form an important drive for human progress and global peace and development." The diversity of civilizations provides a broad space for such exchanges and mutual learning, which, in turn, injects dynamism into the innovative development of human civilizations.

On November 17, 2024, the "Silk Road of Carpet" International Carpet Exhibition opened at the Palace of Iris: Cuihuangkou International Carpet Culture Exhibition Hall in Cuihuangkou Town, Wuqing District, Tianjin. Carpet industry experts and scholars from around the world gathered to discuss topics like the digital preservation and revitalization of classic carpet designs, the historical link between carpets and the Silk Road, and the role of carpets in today's globalized world. The event also featured live demonstrations of ancient carpet restoration techniques, giving guests a chance to experience the depth of carpet culture up close.
