Xi's visits to France, Serbia, Hungary chart course for future

Chinese President Xi Jinping has paid state visits to France, Serbia and Hungary from May 5 to 10, 2024. This marks the first visit to Europe by China's head of state in nearly five years. The heads of state of China and France reached a number of consensuses on further developing bilateral relations, agreed to consolidate the strategic stability of bilateral ties, tap the broad potential of mutually beneficial cooperation, accelerate people-to-people exchanges, and build greater consensus on global cooperation. During the visit to Serbia, President Xi and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic agreed to build a China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era. During the visit to Hungary, President Xi and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban decided to elevate bilateral relations to an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for the new era.

5月5日至10日，国家主席习近平应邀对法国、塞尔维亚、匈牙利三国进行国事访问。这是近五年来中国国家元首首次访问欧洲。访法期间，两国元首就进一步发展中法关系达成多项共识，一致同意巩固双边关系战略稳定，挖掘互利合作广阔潜力，加快人文交流“双向奔赴”，凝聚全球合作更大共识。访塞期间，两国元首宣布，深化和提升中塞全面战略伙伴关系，构建新时代中塞命运共同体。在布达佩斯，习近平主席同欧尔班总理宣布，将中匈关系提升为新时代全天候全面战略伙伴关系。

Wuhan Declaration adopted at China–Latin American and Caribbean States Space Cooperation Forum

中拉航天合作论坛通过《武汉宣言》

Chinese President Xi Jinping on April 24 sent a congratulatory letter to the first China–Latin American and Caribbean States Space Cooperation Forum, which was held in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province. The Wuhan Declaration was adopted at the forum. The declaration pointed out that China and many countries in Latin America have signed space cooperation documents and carried out cooperation, such as the successful launch of the China-Brazil earth-resource satellite, the Venezuelan communications and remote-sensing satellite, and the Bolivian communication satellite. According to the declaration, the China–Latin America space cooperation has made space technology serve the economic and social development of China and Latin American and Caribbean countries, and has become an indispensable driving force for South-South cooperation, which is conducive to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

4月24日，国家主席习近平向首届“中国—拉美和加勒比国家航天合作论坛”致贺信。首届“中国—拉美和加勒比国家航天合作论坛”当日在湖北武汉开幕。论坛发布《武汉宣言》——航天助力构建携手共进的中拉命运共同体。《武汉宣言》指出，中国同拉美和加勒比多国签署了航天合作文件，务实推动了中拉航天交流与项目合作，顺利完成中巴地球资源系列卫星、委内瑞拉通信和遥感卫星、玻利维亚通信卫星等航天合作项目，促进了航天技术服务于中国与拉美和加勒比国家经济社会发展，成为南南合作不可或缺的推动力量，有助于联合国2030可持续发展目标的实现。
