Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012, people's living standards in China have been continuously improved. According to the standard of U.N., China's living standard has entered the stage of relatively well-off.

Per capita disposable income 

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first three quarters of 2023, China's per capita disposable income registered an actual growth of 5.9%. Notably, the income growth of rural residents outpaced that of urban residents.

Per capita disposable income increased from 16,510 yuan in 2012 to 36,883 yuan in 2022, an increase of 83% after deducting price factors, outpacing economic growth.
