Chinese-Style Human Rights Reflect Chinese Wisdom

The modernization path the West has taken is very different from that of China, largely because Western-style modernization centers on capital, whereas Chinese-style modernization emphasizes the collective promotion and equitable sharing of development achievements among all Chinese citizens, with the aim of improving the quality of life for all.

At the core of the Chinese path to modernization lies the human rights principle of "universal human rights for all," which not only underscores the inclusiveness of China's human rights approach and the universality of human rights protection but also exemplifies the commitment to safeguarding the lives, values and dignity of all Chinese citizens, as evidenced by our nation's successful poverty alleviation campaign.


On June 14, 2023, the Forum on Global Human Rights Governance is convened in Beijing, capital of China.

In 2021, the year the Communist Party of China celebrated its 100th birthday, China triumphed over the largest battle against poverty in human history: All 832 impoverished counties were lifted out of poverty, nearly 100 million rural individuals emerged from poverty, over 9.6 million impoverished individuals were relocated, and the poverty reduction objective outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations was reached a decade ahead of schedule. Every impoverished individual received assistance from the government. In the backdrop of approximately 700 million people still facing extreme poverty globally and increasing wealth inequality in various countries, impoverished regions in China underwent a remarkable transformation, marking a comprehensive victory in the fight against poverty.
