This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Hosted by the All-China Journalists Association, the 2023 Belt and Road Journalists Forum was held in Beijing on October 12, 2023. This significant event brought together nearly 100 leaders of journalists' organizations and media representatives from over 40 countries and regions that are actively involved in the BRI. They had in-depth discussions and exchanges centered on the theme of "Building a Beautiful Silk Road, Jointly Promoting Prosperity and Development." A notable highlight of the forum was the issuance of the Join Hands to Embark on a New Journey of the Next Decade — Joint Declaration of the Belt and Road Journalist Organizations. This declaration symbolized the strong willingness of all participants to work together to enhance political trust, economic and trade interactions, cultural exchanges and media cooperation, in order to foster greater mutual understanding and trust among people of BRI participating countries.

Both Chinese and foreign participants at the forum acknowledged that since the launch of the BRI a decade ago, the participating countries have deepened policy communication, facilitated infrastructure connectivity, expanded trade cooperation, improved financial accommodation, and promoted people-to-people exchanges. These efforts have yielded widespread benefits for local communities and have contributed positively to global peace and development. Journalists representing BRI member countries, united through the Belt and Road Journalists Network (BRJN), have steadfastly promoted exchanges and cooperation. They have consistently upheld moral principles in the face of changing international dynamics and have supported each other during the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, they have also come to create a good atmosphere for and play a unique role in promoting the BRI for international cooperation.
