Xi Jinping Thought on Culture has been formally put forward at a two-day national meeting on the work of public communication and culture, which was held in Beijing from October 7 to 8. The new ideas and judgments about cultural development in the new era put forward by Xi have enriched and developed Marxist cultural theories and formed Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, the meeting noted. It added that Xi Jinping Thought on Culture has shown that the Party's understanding of the laws underlying the development of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics has reached a new height and so has the Party's confidence in the history and culture.

全国宣传思想文化工作会议10月7日至8日在京召开。会议最重要的成果就是首次提出了习近平文化思想。习近平总书记在新时代文化建设方面的新思想新观点新论断，丰富和发展了马克思主义文化理论，形成了习近平文化思想。这一重要思想，标志着我们党对中国特色社会主义文化建设规律的认识达到了新高度，表明我们党的历史自信、文化自信达到了新高度。

世界科幻大会首次“牵手”中国 致敬人类想象力

The 81st World Science Fiction Convention (WorldCon) opened on October 18 in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province. Chengdu is the second city in Asia and the first in China to host the convention, which is one of the most anticipated, longest-running and largest sci-fi events in the world. Themed "Meet the Future," Chengdu WorldCon presented over 200 activities, panels and salons, the Hugo Awards, and themed exhibitions.

10月18日晚，第81届世界科幻大会（2023成都世界科幻大会）在成都市开幕，本届世界科幻大会以“共生纪元”为主题，除了开闭幕式和雨果奖颁奖典礼三大盛典以外，其间还举行了200多场主题沙龙、主题展览等各类活动。世界科幻大会是世界上最受瞩目、历史最悠久、规模和影响力最大的科幻文化主题活动，此次是这一盛会首次走进中国。成都也因此成为亚洲第二个举办世界科幻大会的城市。
