Toward Closer China-Pakistan Community With Shared Future

A decade ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping successively put forward the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, the Belt and Road Initiative and the guiding principles for neighborhood diplomacy featuring amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness. Pakistan, a reliable ally of China, eagerly responded. In 2013, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was launched as an important pioneering project of the Belt and Road cooperation. President Xi attaches high importance to the growth of China-Pakistan relations and the construction of the CPEC.

The Pakistani government recently commemorated the 10th anniversary of the CPEC, and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, acting as the special representative of President Xi, was sent to attend the Decade of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor celebration event in Islamabad, during which he read President Xi's congratulatory letter. In the letter, President Xi fully affirmed the positive achievements and great significance of the CPEC, highlighting how the project has come to symbolize China and Pakistan's unwavering friendship and is helping the two nations forge a closer community with a shared future in the new era.

The construction of the CPEC pioneers a successful practice in building a community of a shared future for mankind. The Silk Road's spirit of peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, and mutual learning and mutual benefit has produced successful results in the construction of the CPEC over the past decade.
