The 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held at the China National Convention Center and the Shougang Park in Beijing from September 2 to 6, 2023. During the 2023 CIFTIS, the exhibition area of culture and tourism services vividly demonstrated new scenarios in culture and tourism that are empowered by digital technology.

Revived heritage

One of the most outstanding highlights of this exhibition area was the themed show on the Central Axis of Beijing.

Through new technologies such as glasses-free 3D, satellite remote sensing and digital twinning, the show created an immersive experience space filled with stunning special effects, drawing countless visitors to admire the splendorous beauty of the Beijing Central Axis in different seasons.

The axis is the best preserved core area of the old city of Beijing, where many landmarks, including the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square and the Temple of Heaven, are located.

In the same exhibition area, the ancient town of Tongzhou and the Old Summer Palace, both located in Beijing, were also restored virtually in high definition before the audience. Digital technology brought the cultural relics and historic buildings to life and sent people on a journey back in time.
