In recent years, the China State Railway Group (hereinafter referred to as China Railway) has placed a high value on the protection and utilization of railway relics and objects with preservation value. Since its launch in 2021, the tour exhibition of "Excellent Railway Relics" has been held in Beijing, Heilongjiang Province's Harbin, and Shaanxi Province's Xi'an for three consecutive years, charting the historical achievements and changes of China's railways under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
A number of new and old railway relics, such as a 675-mm-long rail manufactured in Hanyang, Hubei Province, in 1901; the "General Map of China Railways" from The International Development of China written by Dr. Sun Yat-sen (1866–1925) in 1919; the "No. 0" steam locomotive, the oldest extant locomotive of China; and the logo of the China-Europe freight train, are now popular on the internet, vividly telling stories about the history and development of China's Railways.
