China has ramped up rescue and relief efforts in response to the violent rainstorms, which, brought by Typhoon Doksuri, have inundated parts of north and northeast China and the Yellow River and Huaihe River basins since the end of July 2023.

The extreme precipitation has triggered massive floods and landslides, killing people and inflicting severe damage on crops, homes and infrastructure in those regions, including the Chinese capital Beijing.
