To further promote reading nationwide and improve public cultural service systems, the city of Hulun Buir in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region stepped up efforts to make reading fashionable. It developed a "cultural night fair" at the cultural leisure corridor along the Yimin River, set up mobile libraries in rural and pastoral areas, and created "reading bases" in neighborhoods and communities.

It was a night with lights on in August. At the Yimin River cultural leisure corridor under the Hasar Bridge, a cultural night fair themed "Hulun Buir Cultural Tourism Season and Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture National Reading Carnival" was held.
