The Fuxing train departing from Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, is about to meet the Lancang train departing from Vientiane, capital of Laos. The rolling wheels connect Chinese cities of Kunming, Yuxi, Pu'er and Xishuangbanna with Lao cities of Luang Prabang and Vientiane. This has injected significant vitality into the construction of a community with a common destiny between China and Laos.
Since the opening of the China-Laos Railway on December 3, 2021, over 300 staff members from the Vientiane Operation and Management Center of China Railway Kunming Bureau Group have been responsible for the operation and management of the railway's Lao section. With their Lao colleagues, they connected the road networks, ensured stable operation and conducted training sessions. They made new friends, benefited the public and promoted development. Aside from all that, they have set multiple records, drafted a railway regulation of more than 1.5 million words, explored modes of cooperative railway management, and promoted the internationalization of "Chinese standards." In May 2023, they were awarded a collective honor of the China Youth May Fourth Medal by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. The China Youth May Fourth Medal, the highest honor for youths from all walks of life across China, has been awarded since 1997 to exceptional individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions and exemplary roles in their industries.
