Chinese Restorers Revive Cultural Heritage in Asia

On April 25, 2023, the first General Assembly of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia was convened in Xi'an, China, attended by 150 representatives from 21 Asian countries and three international organizations. The meeting saw the official establishment of the Asian Cultural Heritage Protection Alliance and the issuance of a joint declaration, which advocates building the alliance into an important platform for cultural heritage protection and inter-civilization exchange and mutual learning.

Chinese experts have played an important part in Asian cultural heritage protection in the past 30 years. Their work has gained global recognition and exemplified China's roleas a cultural powerhouse.

According to statistics, since 2019, China has cooperated with Cambodia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan to preserve and restore 11 historic sites, helping Asia revive its cultural gems.
