David Ferguson is the honorary chief English editor of Foreign Languages Press, China International Communications Group, and a recipient of the Chinese Government Friendship Award. He hails from the U.K., and has lived and worked in China since 2006.

As a respected author and editor, Ferguson has edited the English version of many government white papers and important books, including the four volumes of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China, contributing to China's international communication for more than a decade.

I arrived in Beijing in April 2008, to take up my new appointment as a journalist/editor with China.org, the web-based news and information provider that is part of the China International Communications Group. I began my formal duties as part of the Chinese media on April 21, initially by orienting myself and familiarizing myself with my new colleagues, surroundings and responsibilities.
