The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2023 was successfully held in Boao, south China's Hainan Province, from March 28 to 31. It was the first time BFA met face-to-face since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic three years ago. The theme of the forum was "An Uncertain World: Solidarity and Cooperation for Development amid Challenges." With a line-up of high-level guests and discussions on a range of cutting-edge topics, BFA once again demonstrated its unique role in addressing global challenges, invigorating development, and leading Asian and global developmental trends.

Since its founding in 2001, BFA has taken a leading role in facing up to the challenges brought by the issues of the moment and has always provided a showcase to demonstrate the strength of the Asian continent. Over the past two decades and more, it has won wide support and active participation from Asian countries, and has promoted many important Asian-led initiatives and proposals. Always imbued with a global focus, these proposals which follow the Boao spirit of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation have sent forth a strong message of vigorous development, solidarity and cooperation in Asia.
