Spring in Xiong'an is full of life, and in this part of Hebei Province some 120 km from Beijing there is vitality to be seen everywhere as rapid growth is occurring.

A new city has taken shape, since Xiong'an was selected as a state-level new area in April 2017.

Construction of the Xiong'an New Area is a significant strategic policy initiative made by the central government. Xi Jinping, president of the People's Republic of China and general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, took the leading role in the planning, implementation and promotion of this project. Thus, the project from the start was characterized by the very highest-level planning and highest-possible standards of construction.
