China's economy grew 4.5% year on year in the first quarter of 2023, versus 2.9% in the last quarter of 2022, posting a steady economic rebound, the National Bureau of Statistics said on April 18, 2023.
The country's first-quarter gross domestic product (GDP) came in at around 28.5 trillion yuan (4.15 trillion U.S. dollars). On a quarter-on-quarter basis, China's GDP grew by 2.2% in the first three months of the year, the NBS said.
