Since the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013, the PetroChina Great Wall Drilling Co., Ltd. (GWDC) has been working in over 33 countries in Africa, Central Asia, the Middle East and America, providing engineering and technical services to 130-plus overseas customers.

Refining skills, products and services

GWDC has established stable cooperative relations with many customers in Turkmenistan, Niger, Chad, Iraq, etc.

By July 2, 2021, with one oil well test completed, three flowing wells with a daily output of over 1,000 barrels each have been built in the Bilma block in Niger, setting a record for the daily output of a single well and the viscosity of tested crude oil in this block. Due to the outstanding performance, GWDC was trusted with another seven wells. GWDC laid a solid foundation for PetroChina's construction of the 10 million-tonne reserve in Niger.
