On the afternoon of December 9, 2022, the first China-Arab States Summit was held in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia. On the eve of the summit, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a report on China-Arab cooperation in the new era, which reviewed the history of friendly exchanges between China and Arab states after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, especially in the new stage of the new century, and forecasted the prospects and the directions of building a China-Arab community with a shared future.

Up to now, the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum has held nine ministerial meetings.
