On Dec. 5, 2022, Chinese-Arab Media Cooperation Forum kicks off in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. More than 150 guests, including government officials, representatives of media organizations, experts, and scholars from China and 22 Arab states, attend the forum online or offline.
China and Arab states have cooperated in areas of the economy, commerce and trade, science and technology, culture, military affairs and aerospace. Among them, Arab-Chinese media cooperation occupies a very important position.
The current world is full of variables and uncertainties, so all countries are facing enormous challenges. The challenges faced by Arab states and China are especially prominent, and they have both been suppressed by Western public opinions in various fields.
Through the construction of a normalized media dialogue and exchange platform, the Chinese-Arab Media Cooperation Forum has helped promote bilateral cultural exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations. This benefits the consolidation of the Arab-China partnership in the new era.
Thousands of years ago, the rise of the ancient Silk Road allowed the Arab-China partnership to begin to take root. In 2013, President Xi Jinping proposed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). With the implementation of this initiative, the Arab-China partnership has become closer. The BRI has brought important opportunities to Arab states, so we joined this initiative without any hesitation and worked with China to jointly promote the development and rosperity of the regional economy and society.
Personally, I admire President Xi very much. As a leader of a major country, he wisely put forward the BRI, which has demonstrated his keen insight, visionary strategy, and superb governance capabilities and diplomatic philosophy. China has always been committed to win-win cooperation and building a community with a shared future for mankind. The BRI will undoubtedly benefit all participating countries and even the whole world.
