On the report to the 20th CPC National Congress and the great changes in the first decade of the new era

The 20th CPC National Congress is a meeting of great importance. It took place at a critical time as the entire Party and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups embark on a new journey to build China into a modern socialist country in all respects and advance toward the Second Centenary Goal. It holds high its banner, pools all the strength, and promotes solidarity and dedication. Based on an analysis of the international and domestic environments, the report adopted at the congress sets out the theme of the congress, reviews the work of the past five years and the great changes in the first decade of the new era, and elaborates on major topics including a new frontier in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of the times, the essential requirements of Chinese modernization and its features that are unique to the Chinese context, among others. It draws up a grand blueprint and practical path for building a great modern socialist country in all respects, and formulates policies, guidelines and overall plans for advancing the cause of the Party and the country in the next five years. It is a political declaration and a program of action for the Party to unite the Chinese people of all ethnic groups and lead them in striving for new success of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. It is a programmatic document of Marxism.
The report, produced by fully carrying forward intra-Party democracy and whole-process people's democracy, is a crystallization of the wisdom of the whole Party and the Chinese people. The CPC Central Committee conducted two rounds of appropriate intra-Party consultations, soliciting opinions from over 4,700 people, and carried out extensive consultations among the public via online channels, collecting over 8.5 million opinions. The report is a collection of practical experience and theoretical innovation of the Party and the people in the new era and a crystallization of the wisdom of the whole Party and society. It meets the expectations of the people, and will undoubtedly make significant and far-reaching impacts on the endeavor of the Party to rally the people and lead them in building a modern socialist country in all respects and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts. It will inevitably help the international community further understand the Party's governance philosophy, approaches and capacity.
