Bater stands in front of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing during the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in October 2022.

Bater, born in 1990 in Inner Mongolia, is head of the South Second Ring Road Fire Rescue Station of Hohhot's Yuquan District, Inner Mongolia. He was one of Huhhot's delegates elected to attend the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) convened in late October 2022.

When his grandmother, who lives in a different city, learned the news, she was very excited. On the morning of October 16, 2022, the day the 20th CPC National Congress opened in Beijing, the old woman in her seventies grabbed a stool to sit in front of the TV.

"The child is too busy to visit me over the past three years," she said. "I'll see him on TV today."

'I want to learn from my father'

Bater's father joined the army at 18 and later became a firefighter. He always took the lead, even in the face of urgent and dangerous tasks, and he worked unimaginably hard to protect people's lives and property. Because of his outstanding performance, he was appointed as deputy head of the Armed Police Fire Brigade in Yih Ju League (Erdos City).

Bater's mother was a competitive Judo athlete. She not only won the National Judo Championship, but also won a bronze medal in the Pacific Rim Judo Championships on behalf of the Chinese judo team in the United States in 1987.
