On November 1, 2022, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif made a significant and historic visit to China, following the landmark 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Mr. Xi Jinping's re-election as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee. Regular exchanges and visits based on strategic trust and commonality of views reflect the strength of the bond and ironclad brotherhood between Pakistan and China. Both sides issued a comprehensive statement at the end of the visit reaffirming the resolve to make headway in the direction of togetherness on national-level cooperation and stand together on regional and international issues.
