China's New Model of Political Party System in the New Era

On August 16, the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee held "China in the Past Decade" press conference to introduce the achievements in upholding and improving the system of CPC-led multi-Party cooperation and political consultation in the new era.

In the past decade, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) has convened 18 special political standing committee meetings, 20 special consultations, 140 biweekly consultative symposiums, 16 online remote consultive meetings and 51 expert consultations.

Currently, 19 non-CPC personages hold leading positions in the Supreme People's Court, Supreme People's Procuratorate, and departments of the State Council.

The CPPCC has organized its members to conduct 34 themed inspections in the past three years.

As of June 2021, 29 non-CPC-member people serve as deputy governors (vice chairmen and vice mayors) of 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government); 380 serve as members of the prefectural and municipal government leading groups; 45 work as vice-presidents and deputy procurator-generals of provincial people's courts and procuratorates; and 345 serve as vice-presidents and deputy procurator-generals of prefecture-level people's courts and procuratorates.

Over 2,400, over 80

Over the five years, the central committees of non-CPC political parties made more than 2,400 critical suggestions to the CPC committees and governments of the eight provinces and autonomous regions, and delivered more than 80 targeted supervision reports to the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, playing an important role in winning the battle against poverty.

58,000, over 47,000

In the past decade, CPPCC National Committee has received more than 58,000 proposals, of which more than 47,000 have been placed on file following review.
