Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, the National People's Congress (NPC) and its Standing Committee have enacted 69 new laws, amended 237 laws, adopted 99 decisions concerning legal issues and major issues, and given nine pieces of legal interpretations. There was a total of 292 effective laws so far.
