On May 24, the National Health Commission of the PRC held press conferences with the theme of "For the People's Health — China in the Past Decade" to introduce the achievements of poverty alleviation work through healthcare as well as the progress of its alignment with rural revitalization since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, the National Health Commission has helped nearly 10 million families which became poor or slipped back into poverty due to illness to shake off poverty. It's a remarkable result.

Over 20 mln people

A national information system for dynamic management of healthcare-based poverty alleviation has been established to implement targeted classified treatment of poor patients. By the end of 2020, more than 20 million people had received treatment.
