In 2021, the maternal mortality rate in China decreased to 16.1/100,000, the infant mortality rate decreased to 5.0‰, and the mortality rate of children under 5 years old decreased to 7.1‰. The core indicators of maternal and child health had dropped to the lowest level in history.
