In early 2022, Qin Wenchong flashes a thumbs-up in front of the camera in an interview.
When coming across a car accident on his way of delivery, he stopped to call the emergency number at once and acted as a temporary commander at the rescue site. During the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, he took the initiative to establish an anti-epidemic team, which twice assumed the responsibility of delivering nucleic acid test samples. He is Qin Wenchong, a deliveryman and one of the winners of the 2022 National May 1 Labor Medal.
Qin, 29, has been responsible for heavy-cargo collection and delivery in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, for five years. From the first ray of sunshine emerging at dawn to myriad of city lights being turned on when night falls, he repeats the same workflow day by day, traveling through the streets and alleys of the city. With the sincerity of an ordinary person, he is meticulous in work, rendering love and beauty to warm people's hearts.
Being the creator of a better life
Looking back, it was one day at the end of 2016. Qin was faced with a choice for his future after finishing his five years of military career. "Should I go back to my hometown to work in a public institution, or go to Shenzhen, the vibrant and dynamic city?" he asked himself. Thinking over and over again, Qin decided to head for Shenzhen, since he believed that "where there is pressure, there is a driving force."
