An overview of China's land greening in 2021

March 12 is the 44th Arbor Day in China, and the Office of the National Greening Committee released the Bulletin on the State of China's Land Greening in 2021 on March 11.

3.6 million hectares

The country completed the afforestation of 3.6 million hectares.

1.44 million hectares

The country completed the control of sandy and rocky desertification land of 1.44 million hectares.

91.8%

It was the first time that afforestation tasks had been assigned directly to counties and afforestation plot polygons had been implemented, with a afforestation plot polygons rate of 91.8%.

1.13 million hectares

The country completed natural forest tending of 1.13 million hectares.

380,800 hectares, 23,900 hectares

The areas of returning cultivated land to forestry and grassland reached 380,800 hectares and 23,900 hectares respectively.

9.67 million hectares, 13.73 million hectares

The national area of prevention and control for forestry and grassland pests reached 9.67 million hectares and 13.73 million hectares respectively.

3.07 million hectares

The country completed the improvement of 3.07 million hectares of grassland.
