On February 28, National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) released Statistical Communiqué on the 2021 National Economic and Social Development. The basic statistics relating to household income and consumption, and social security are as follows:

35,128 yuan

In 2021, the per capita disposable income nationwide reached 35,128 yuan, an increase of 9.1% from a year earlier, or 8.1% in real terms after correcting for the effect of inflation.

24,100 yuan

In 2021, the national per capita consumption expenditure reached 24,100 yuan, up 13.6%, or 12.6% in real terms, over the previous year.

29.8%

In 2021, the national Engel coefficient was 29.8%. The Engel coefficient of urban and rural households nationwide stood at 28.6% and 32.7% respectively.
