Since its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), China has witnessed increasing foreign investments. The value of actually utilized foreign investment increased from 388 billion yuan in 2001 (excluding the banking, securities and insurance sectors) to 999.98 billion yuan in 2020, an increase of 157.7%. The value reached 943.15 billion yuan in the first 10 months of 2021 and is expected to exceed one trillion yuan for the whole year.
